Bathroom Love Notes

The other day, I walked into my bathroom and found a little note on my toilet paper roll.

It simply said, "Love U Jenn."

This gave me a project...

So I went to work on this (another thrift store find)...
I repainted it with 2 coats of Folk Art white acrylic paint.
Then I took some Folk Art brown acrylic paint, and watered it down (about 1/2 and 1/2).
I painted the brown paint on, waited a few seconds, then wiped it off (leaving traces of brown behind).
I did that for the entire tray (except for the middle).
This gave it the antiquey look that I wanted.
After that was done, I painted the middle with brown chalkboard paint (putting on 4 coats).
I also found this, which previously housed a candle.
Glued some paper (with burnt edges) around it, and tied a little ribbon to give it an extra touch.
This is now going to hold colored chalk.
I then used Gorilla Glue to attach this to the side of the tray.
Creating this...
I hung it in our bathroom, right above the sink, and voila!
We have...
