The other day, I walked into my bathroom and found a little note on my toilet paper roll.
It simply said, "Love U Jenn."
This gave me a project...
BATHROOM LOVE NOTES!
So I went to work on this (another thrift store find)...
I repainted it with 2 coats of Folk Art white acrylic paint.
Then I took some Folk Art brown acrylic paint, and watered it down (about 1/2 and 1/2).
I painted the brown paint on, waited a few seconds, then wiped it off (leaving traces of brown behind).
I did that for the entire tray (except for the middle).
This gave it the antiquey look that I wanted.
After that was done, I painted the middle with brown chalkboard paint (putting on 4 coats).

Great Idea! I have a tray just like that from the thrift store. I might do something similar. Thanks for the idea!!!
