Our BIG Announcement...

All right, are you ready for this?

We're...

MOVING!

No, not to another country.

No, not to another state.

And no, not even to another city.

Just to a two-bedroom apartment!

And yes, this is HUGE for us...

For many reasons, including:

1) We've been in the same, one-bedroom apartment for almost 4 years
(Yes, my 2.5 year old daughter still sleeps in my bedroom...and sometimes in my bed.
Where else am I supposed to put her in my one-bedroom apartment?)

and

2) We're college students, but still haven't moved (don't college students move a lot?!)

Okay, the truth is, I'm NERVOUS!

This is the first time we're moving our family (as small as it may be).

Over the years, we've collected stuff...

a PLETHORA of stuff!

Anyone have any moving advice?

Oh, and please excuse my diminished involvement in the blogging world over the next few weeks.

I'll be packing, cleaning, organizing, and probably telling a lot of my hubby's friends where to take and put boxes.

  2. Congrats! That is exciting you will enjoy more space! I have no moving advice other than it is a good time to clean out everything. That is the best part of moving - cleaning! We have moved a few times but all within 2-3 miles. Our last move was up North and the company hired movers - that was (sort of) the way to go!

  3. that is awesome! i'm psyched for you guys. and my advice (since i've done it a million times since we've been married...) is don't be afraid to throw/give stuff away. a lot of stuff. we get rid of at least a whole car ride to DI every time we move. it's exhilarating.

  4. Yay! I am excited you guys found a bigger place. Is it still in the ward? As for moving, I agree with everyone else...get ready to get rid of stuff. That, and start packing early. It took us twice as long to pack as I originally anticipated. Good luck with everything! I wish I was there to help you!

  5. congratulations on the move! here's my moving advice. we moved last year in town to upgrade to a bigger place. we were a bit lazy about packing up all of our stuff. we thought it would be easy to just throw it in the car. it was a big mistake. pack it all up, and label it. otherwise it will take FOR-EV-ER.

  9. Hi Jenn,
Good luck on the move! I know how much work it can be, and since you have a toddler to keep you more than busy, I guess my advise to you would be to accept all the help packing & moving that you can! thanks so much for your nice comment. Sorry that it took so long to respond, but we just got back from 6 days in Paris! I will be uploading photos to my blog hopefully today, so stop by if you get a break from your packing!

  11. Hi Jenn....well congratulations to you. Advise to you is make it fun...yes moving can be fun!!~ If you have not used something in a year...donate it, that way you are not just packing it and not using it in your new place. Decorate your daughters new bedroom oh what fun that is....she will be excited too to have her own room, maybe not in the beginning but in time. We have moved four times in 15 years.....I never made it exhausting, I made it a new adventure in our lives.

  12. For me, moving is fun! I love wrapping and labeling every box! That way, I know where everything should go. To me, the hard part is resisting buying new things for the larger space! hehe
